This acidic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Unlike polymer-based ion exhangers, this sorbent is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity and can be used for radioactive compound isolation. The unique balance of hydrophobicity and water-wettability of the Oasis MAX sorbent means you will never have to worry about poor results if individual wells of the 96-well plate dry out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. The 1 cc flangeless Oasis MCX cartridges contain the Oasis MCX, which is a novel, mixed-mode polymeric sorbent that has been optimized to achieve higher selectivity and sensitivity for extracting basic compounds with cation-exchange groups. Since the Oasis MCX sorbent is water wettable, it maintains its capability for higher retention and excellent recoveries even if the sorbent runs dry, which means there is no need to take extraordinary steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. The flangeless configuration allows the cartridges to be closely packed for processing in specialized automated SPE systems.
